Fortunately, I don't have much use for the CD. A must-have book, but the illustration shows "CD included" on the cover in the upper right hand corner. The copy I received did not have that on the cover - and did not have the CD either.
I will be ordering the Book as soon as it comes up for sale as it is a lot less bother to take the book when I price coins away from home then it is to take my laptop or find a PC to use the DVD. The features are easy to understand and use and it takes up very little space how ever I find I am using a bit of my time looking for it becouse it has gotten in with music CD's or movies. I ordered this item thinking it was the paperback book that came with a dvd of the same book free like the Standard Catalog of World Coins 1900 to present I had ordered just weeks before. Even though it was not what I though I had ordered I am happy with the product and it works very well.
It is by far not complete, but does have pretty much anything you need. for anyone that needs information on world coins.
Luckily I only spent $19.95 plus $3.98 shipping to get this price guide, not a fortune however it might have paid to get a more recent edition given the lack of information. I imagine a later volume of this book would be more comprehensive, with less missing information and with more up to date prices. Even still though there's plenty of useful information and images which show the actual size of coins in real life.
This is not nearly the whole of it. Neither country was listed. I read in an earlier review that certain coins were missing from this guide.
Other information that wasn't the best from this guide was certain mintages weren't recorded, certain weights of coins were not mentioned, many coin conditions are not listed, and certain percentages of metal contents weren't given. Should the right price be offered, I'll get a newer guide that will hopefully be more useful. Even certain countries were COMPLETELY missing.
I went to look up the value of a coin today from British Honduras or Belize today and guess what.
Accurate, precise and inclusive. It belongs in the library of any serious coin collector. With over 27,500 illustrations the standard Catalog of World coins is the Bible for any serious coin collectors.
